Butler C.C. -- Earned all-conference Region 6 honors in indoor and was a outdoor national qualifier as a freshman... took eighth place in the pentathlon at Nationals and placed third in the region in the event as a sophomore... recorded a top-10 placing at the Outdoor Nationals in the decathlon... was a member of the outdoor Academic all-America team... coached by Kirk Hunter and Eugene Frazier.
High School -- Was a member of the track and field squad at Osage City High School... was the regional runner-up in the high jump as a freshman and sophomore, and was the regional champion as a junior and senior... a state qualifier in the high jump as a senior and jumped his way to the league title as a junior... broke the Flint Hill League high jump record in 2006... was coached by Kip Wilson and Jeff Edwards... earned four letters in football and three in basketball... played outside linebacker and was the Area Defensive Player of the Year in 2006... was a two-time all-league and all-state honorable mention athlete... a member of the National Honor Roll in 2004 and 2005.
