Roos Pick Up a Pair of Wins at the Doc Halverson Classic
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Kansas City Softball (2-3) came away from opening weekend with a pair of wins, defeating Butler on opening day, 7-2, and mounting a comeback over Northern Iowa this afternoon, 6-5. Both teams that the Roos defeated finished in the top halves of their conferences last season: Butler took fifth place in the Big East and Northern Iowa took third in the Missouri Valley. Along with the wins, KC dropped a game each to Butler, Northern Iowa and Iowa State.

The Kansas City Roos went against the North Dakota Hawks, brining an action-packed game to the court. With the high energy, the Roos filled the audience with excitement. Despite the energetic moments, the Roos fell to the Hawks in a final score of 68-58.

Kansas City Outmatched in Late Stages by North Dakota

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women's Basketball (7-17, 4-7) hung close with North Dakota (7-18, 3-8) but failed to make up enough ground in the end, falling by a score of 58-68 on Saturday afternoon inside the Swinney Center. The Roos were down just three heading into the fourth quarter but yielded a minus-seven point run which swung the game open for the Fighting Hawks by the final buzzer. Elauni Bennett reached her seventh double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive side of the glass.
