2011-12 -- Played in every game but three... Started 20 times... Led the 'Roos and ranked 11th in the Summit League with 84 assists (3.0 pg)... Also ranked 10th in the conference with a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio... Tallied six assists to zero turnovers against Longwood (11/26)... Had his first career double digit scoring game against IPFW on the road in the the conference opener (12/1) with 10... Sat out against North Dakota and Southeast Missouri due to injury... Scored career-best 12 points against both North Dakota State (1/12) and South Dakota (2/4) on the road... Followed that with a career-high seven assists against South Dakota State (2/11).
High School -- Named the 2011 St. Paul Pioneer Press Player of the Year, the Breakdown Class 3A Player of the Year, a McDonald's all-American Nominee and to the Minnesota Mr. Basketball top-20 List after leading St. Paul Johnson to a 25-4 record and the No. 1 seed in the Minnesota 3A State Tournament... He was ranked as the top point guard in Minnesota's senior class of 2011 by MinnesotaPrep.com... He averaged 18.0 points per game, while being named to the 2011 Star Tribune first-team All-Metro team... His best game as a senior came on Jan. 20, 2011, when he posted season-highs of 30 points and 10 assists in the Governors 70-66 win over Superior... As a junior, Tyler led Johnson to a perfect 32-0 record and the Minnesota 3A State Championship... During that season, Tyler led St. Paul Johnson in scoring (14 points per game), assists (4.1 per game) and free throw percentage (78.9 percent), while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 40.8 percent on 147 three-point attempts. He also pulled down 3.1 rebounds per contest and notched 1.8 steals per game... Also during his junior season, Tyler garnered all-state, all-metro and all-state tournament honors, as well as being selected all-conference for the third consecutive season... In his four-year career, Tyler helped Johnson to an impressive 105-15 record, including the St. Paul City Conference Championship all four years... Four times he was selected as an all-conference performer, while being named first-team all-State the past two seasons and to the Best Buy all-Tournament Team in both 2009 and 2010... He was selected All-Christmas Tournament all four years, and MVP two times.
