2012-13 -- Battled an injury that sidelined him for 14 games in the second half of the season... Despite that, he played in 16 and started three contests... His best game came against Western Illinois (12/1), scoring 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting.
At Tyler -- Played one season at Tyler Junior College in Texas for head coach Mike Marquis... Helped the Apaches to an 18-12 overall record... He missed the second half of the season due to injury, but averaged eight points and seven boards per contest... Had a GPA of 3.6 as well.
High School -- He was a three-year letterwinner and starter at James E. Taylor High School, where he began his career as a point guard, but grew seven inches to his current height... As a sophomore he was an all-district honorable mention selection after averaging 12 points and 5 rebounds per game... As a junior he was injured half the season but garnered second team all-district honors after putting up 14 points and 7 boards a contest... His senior season he was a first-team all-district pick after averaging 17 points and 8 rebounds per outing... He was a team captain that year as well, and was ranked No. 8 at his position in the city of Houston coming out of high school... He was also ranked No. 82 in the state of Texas by Rivals, and as one of the top 20 players in the city, getting him invited to the National Future 150 Camp... He decided to play one more season for the United States Military Academy Prep School... His high game was 28 points and 17 rebounds... He played for the Houston Elite AAU team, helping the team to the Las Vegas Summer Championships Final Four in 2009... In high school he was also solid in academics, earning student of the week multiple times, and was on the honor roll three times for his 3.5 GPA.
