Multi-year partnership supports Kansas City Athletics’ Big Leap and continued elevation of Roos Men’s Basketball
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 27, 2026) – Kansas City Athletics announced today a multi-year partnership with JE Dunn Construction, making the Kansas City-based company the first-ever jersey patch partner of Roos Men's Basketball.
Beginning with the 2026-27 season, the JE Dunn logo will be prominently featured on Kansas City Men's Basketball game jerseys, providing national and regional exposure throughout the season while aligning two organizations rooted in Kansas City.
"JE Dunn has helped build this city for more than a century, and we're proud to bring that same commitment to the court," said Tim Dunn, Chairman of the Board and Chief Investment Officer at JE Dunn Construction. "Kansas City Athletics is investing in something special, and we're honored to align the JE Dunn name with the program's momentum, ambition and bright future."
The partnership represents another significant step in Kansas City Athletics' Big Leap initiative—a comprehensive effort to elevate the profile, resources and competitive success of Roos Athletics while strengthening its connection to the Kansas City community.
"This partnership with JE Dunn is about much more than putting a logo on a jersey. It represents two organizations that believe in Kansas City and are committed to building something special here," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Brandon Martin said. "JE Dunn has been part of the fabric of this community for generations, and we are extremely proud that they have chosen to invest in the vision and future of Kansas City Athletics."
The announcement comes during a transformational period for Kansas City Men's Basketball. The Roos enter the 2026-27 season under the leadership of Head Coach Mark Turgeon, whose hiring marked a major investment in the program and its pursuit of championship-level success.
Kansas City will also return to historic Municipal Auditorium, bringing Roos Basketball back to the heart of downtown Kansas City and one of college basketball's most storied venues.
"We have been intentional about making the investments necessary to elevate Kansas City Basketball, and the support of local partners like JE Dunn helps make that possible," Martin said. "From bringing Coach Mark Turgeon home to Kansas City, to returning to Municipal Auditorium, to creating new opportunities for our student-athletes and fans, there is tremendous momentum surrounding this program. JE Dunn sees that vision and wants to be part of where we are going."
The partnership also reflects Kansas City Athletics' strategy of developing deeper relationships with leading companies and organizations throughout the region. As the only NCAA Division I athletics program in Kansas City, the Roos provide corporate partners with a unique platform to connect their brands with Kansas City, UMKC alumni, students, fans and the broader community.
"Our Big Leap is about positioning Kansas City Athletics to compete at a higher level in everything we do," Martin added. "That requires bold thinking, strong community partnerships and organizations that believe in our potential. JE Dunn is exactly the type of partner we want alongside us as we continue to grow."
Founded in Kansas City, JE Dunn has grown into one of the nation's leading construction companies while maintaining a significant presence and commitment to its hometown. The partnership further connects the JE Dunn brand with a men's basketball program entering a new era of growth, visibility and excitement.
The JE Dunn jersey patch will debut when the Roos take the court for the 2026-27 season and will be featured throughout Kansas City's home, road and postseason competition. Season tickets are now on sale at KCRoos.com/Tickets or by calling 816-889-8758.
