Odyssey Warren had a career day, finishing with 21 kills on 0.413 hitting
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - After falling behind by two sets, Kansas City Volleyball did not back down from the challenge that Saint Louis presented, forcing a fifth set before falling, 3-2 (25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 23-25, 17-15). Odyssey Warren carried the Kansas City offense, sending across a career-high 21 kills and hitting at a 0.413 clip.
KEY MOMENTS
- S1 / 14-9 | Warren got going early in the first, sending across her second kill to put the Roos up by five.
- S1 / 20-18 | A kill by Rachel Sturdevant gave KC a two-point edge, but SLU rallied off the next five points to claim control of the first set.
- S2 / 6-12 | Devynn Day came through with a kill to put an end to a five-point Saint Louis run.
- S2 / 13-23 | The Roos won three-of-four points, capped by a Raina Smith kill, to try to gain some momentum, but the Billikens took the 2-0 lead.
- S3 / 13-12 | After falling behind by five points early, the Roos rattled off six-straight points on Leah Green's serve. A string of three-straight kills by Warren helped the cause.
- S3 / 20-19 | A Saint Louis service error gave Kansas City the lead for good. It sparked a 4-0 run for KC, including a first-career kill for Nyle Mathis.

- S4 / 8-7 | Georgia Mullins and Kimora Whetstone teamed up in the block, giving the Roos an early edge in the fourth.
- S4 / 15-11 | A kill by Mullins capped a 7-2 Kansas City run, putting the Roos ahead by four.
- S4 / 22-20 | After the Billikens came storming back to take a lead, three-straight kills by Odyssey Warren poised Kansas City to take the fourth set.
- S5 / 6-5 | A block by Mathis and Whetstone gave the Roos a lead early in the final set.
- S5 / 13-12 | After falling behind by three, Warren took over again, placing three kills in four points to give KC a lead.

- S5 / 15-14 | The Roos fought off the first match point, and a block by Sturdevant and Carly Gillen gave the Roos a match point of their own, but Saint Louis took the next three points, and the match.
STATS TO NOTE
- Warren committed two attacking errors within the game's first seven points. After that, she was near flawless, sending across 21 kills and no more errors.
- Her 21-kill performance bests her previous career-high of 19, done against Albany on Sep. 17, 2021. It is the most kills by a Roo since Melanie Brecka went for 21 against Western Illinois on Nov. 13 of last season.
- Sturdevant finished with 10 kills, the most of her Kansas City career.
- After committing seven hitting errors in each of the first two sets, the Roos were forced into just six errors in the final three sets combined.
- Kennedy Schritenthal and Leah Green bolstered the Roos' back line, finishing with 23 and 19 digs, respectively.
