
Roos Fall to UTRGV, 3-0

EDINBURG, Texas – UMKC volleyball lost 3-0 to UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday in a Western Athletic Conference clash in Edinburg, Texas. With the loss, the Roos fell below .500 in conference play for the first time this season.
UMKC (10-10, 4-5 WAC) fell 28-26, 25-20, 25-13, to the Vaqueros (15-7, 5-2 WAC). Senior Emma Hagedorn (Parkville, Mo.), who leads the WAC in hitting percentage, continued her trend of high-efficiency offense, leading the Roos with 12 kills on a .625 hitting percentage, and also contributed defensively with two block assists. Fellow senior Madison Mosier (Lee's Summit, Mo.) recorded eight kills with a .227 hitting efficiency, and freshman Mykal Sadler (Des Moines, Iowa) recorded a .364 hitting percentage with five kills. Mosier led the team with three block assists, and Sadler chipped in on two.
Senior Kaylyn Brandt (Sumner, Iowa) recorded 27 assists and five digs for UMKC. Freshman Rhegan Spiegel (Savannah, Mo.) and junior Adasia Bromberger (Omaha, Neb.) led the Roos with eight digs each.
UMKC returns to Kansas City to for three-straight home matches, starting with Chicago State on Friday, Oct. 21.
