UMKC Hits the Road to Face NMSU, UTRGV

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coming off two wins at home, UMKC hits the road to face New Mexico State and UT Rio Grande Valley this week. The Roos will play the Aggies in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. CT, before facing the Vaqueros on Saturday, Oct. 15 at noon CT in Edinburg, Texas.

About the Roos
UMKC (10-8, 3-2 WAC) won two matches last week, beating CSU Bakersfield 3-1, before topping Grand Canyon 3-2. Senior Emma Hagedorn (Parkville, Mo.) leads the WAC in hitting percentage (.440), and leads UMKC in kills (192) and blocks. Senior Kaylyn Brandt (Sumner, Iowa) leads the WAC with 10.97 assists per set, totaling 702 this season.
Hagedorn and the Roos gained national attention this week, with one of the Park Hill South alum's kills against CSU Bakersfield winning National Play of the Week through a vote on the NCAA Volleyball Twitter account.
About the Aggies
New Mexico State (15-4, 5-0 WAC) ranks first in the conference, and leads the WAC in opponent hitting percentage, assists, and kills. Jordan Abalos leads the Aggies with 247 kills on .224 hitting, while Brianna Ainsworth leads the team with 473 assists.
About the Vaqueros
UT Rio Grande Valley (13-7, 3-2 WAC) is led on the attacking front by Radni Steen Knudsen, who has totaled 283 kills (3.68 per set). Tina Sekulic has recorded a team-high 597 assists, and Dubravka Vukoja has added 256 assists for the Vaqueros.
