Roos Host Chicago State on Think Pink Night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC volleyball is set to open a three-game homestand against Chicago State on Friday, Oct. 21 at Swinney Recreation Center for Think Pink Night. The first 100 fans at the game will receive a free UMKC pink water bottle, with ticket proceeds benefitting the Cynthia Gabel Scholarship Fund.

Tickets for Friday's match can be purchased through the UMKC Athletics Website at UMKCKangaroos.com/Tickets, or at the Swinney Recreation box office, with prices starting at just $5.

About the Roos
UMKC (10-10, 3-4 WAC) ranks first in the conference in hitting percentage (.253), fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.219), third in assists per set (12.38), second in kills per set (13.29), third in blocks per set (2.15), and third in digs per set (14.64).
Senior Emma Hagedorn (Parkville, Mo.) leads the WAC with a .451 hitting percentage, and fellow senior Kaylyn Brandt (Sumner, Iowa) tops the conference charts with 10.78 assists per set. Hagedorn ranks ninth in the league in kills per set, averaging 2.97, and ranks eighth in points averaging 3.56 per set. Brianna Starr (Blue Springs, Mo.) ranks fifth in the WAC with 3.78 digs per set, and Brandt comes in at 10th in the category with 2.86 per set.
About the Cougars
Chicago State (3-19, 1-6 WAC) is led offensively by Dzeni Hadzisehovic, who averages 2.68 kills per set. Kelsey Taylor leads the Cougars with 289 assists, averaging 3.85 per set. Defensively, Megan Klavitter has recorded a team-high 198 digs, and Sofia Gruden leads the team with 61 total blocks.
