KANSAS CITY NOTES
- Kansas City Women's Soccer is back in action on Sunday evening, taking on Creighton in a game that seen an adjusted kickoff time due to a heat advisory in the Kansas City area.
- The Roos opened the year with a loss to Saint Louis on Thursday, snapping a streak of two-straight seasons with a result in the season opener.
- Three Kansas City players attempted a shot against the Billikens: Kaitlyn Edwards, Ashley Koch and Emery Ruliffson. Edwards was the only one to place her shot on-frame, forcing a save on her 62nd minute attempt.
- Six freshmen made their collegiate debuts on Thursday: Kayla Fraser, Genevieve Hull, Rose Proteau, Ella Reyling, Anika Patton and Lydia Safly. All of them came off the bench, led by Proteau with 58 total minutes played.
- Madelyn Muhr was the Roos' leader in minutes, playing for 84. This is not new territory for Muhr, having played 80-plus minutes in 10 games last season. Kinsley Smith was the only other player to surpass the 80-minute mark on Thursday.
CREIGHTON NOTES
- Creighton enters its second season under the guidance of Jimmy Walker in 2025. The Bluejays were 8-7-2 last season and 5-4-1 in Big East play.
- Creighton opened its 2025 season with a 4-1 loss at Oklahoma on Thursday.
- Ella Luna scored in the 41st minute to tie the score at 1-1, but the Bluejays conceded three-straight goals to end the game.
- The Bluejays were selected fifth in the Big East Preseason poll after a fourth-place finish last season.
- Ariana Mondiri was a Second Team All-Big East selection in 2024 and returns as Creighton's scoring leader.
