Women's Soccer Announces 2026 Signing Class

The Roos will bring in 10 new players for the 2026 campaign
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Soccer has officially announced its 2026 signing class, adding 10 new student-athletes to the roster. The class includes nine first-year players and one transfer student, including a pair of Kansas City-area natives.
Abigail Chaddock is a midfielder from Peoria, Ill. and a graduate of Peoria Notre Dame High School. She was a four-year starter, graduating as the winningest starter in program history with a 2024 2A third place finish and a 2025 2A second place finish. Her squad was 39-0-1 in her career in conference games and she was the first player in program history to log both 50 goals and 50 assists. She was a three-time First Team All-State honoree and also won a state championship in basketball. Along with her time at Peoria Notre Dame, she played with Central Illinois United 2008 GA and the 2022 Illinois ODP State Team.
"I chose to play at Kansas City because as soon as I met the coaches, I knew that I was home," Chaddock said. "The coaches and team felt like a family and I could really picture myself at UMKC."
Emily Currid is a defender from Pepper Pike, Ohio, attending Gilmour Academy during her high school years. She was the team MVP, also earning All-Ohio and All-Greater Cleveland honors. She also played with Cleveland Force Soccer Club ECNL and Cleveland Force USL-W.
"I chose to play at Kansas City because I really connected with the coaches and their philosophy of the game," Currid said. "I also loved the campus and knew that Kansas City would provide great academic opportunities for me."
Emilie Dagnault deepens the Roos' Canadian pipeline, hailing from Montréal, Québec. She attended and played at Félix-Leclerc Secondary School and played club soccer for Alliance Soccer Laval of Ligue1 Québec.
"I chose Kansas City because of many factors, including the area, the people, the team and the culture," Dagnault said.
Hailing from Shawnee, Kan., Ava Edwards comes to Kansas City after graduating from Mill Valley High School. During her time at Mill Valley, she was named First Team All-Sunflower League and Second Team All-State. She also played with Union KC WPSL, where she was named ECNL All-Region in both 2023 and 2024.
"I chose to play at UMKC because the team culture is so amazing with so many welcoming players," Edwards said. "The coaches are very dedicated to the success of the team, and each and every player is here to do their best for the team and push each other to succeed."
Brooklyn Lupinacci comes to Kansas City as a true freshman from King City, Ontario, where she played for St. Michael Catholic Secondary School and was named the school's athlete of the year. On the club side, she played with Woodbridge Soccer Club. She also participated in flag football, where the was a three-time MVP.
"I chose Kansas City because I loved the team environment and the coaches were very nice and welcoming when I met them," Lupinacci said. "The girls are extremely nice and I like the facilities."
The third Canadian in the Roos' recruiting class, Ava Nowak is a goalkeeper from Vaughan, Ontario. She attended Bill Crothers Secondary School and played in the Ontario Premier League 1 with the Woodbridge Strikers. According to First Touch Football Canada, she is the 54th-ranked recruit in Canada in the class of 2026 and the third-ranked keeper. She also played basketball and was a captain for her volleyball team.
"I chose to play at Kansas City because I really connected with the culture of the program," Nowak said. "From the beginning, I could tell the team has a close-knit environment where everyone genuinely supports and pushes each other to improve. That sense of accountability and family was something I was looking for."
Another area native, Liv Orosco joins the Roos after a prep career at St. Teresa's Academy. She was an All-Region player at St. Teresa's, also earning the team's Offensive Player of the Year honor. A dual-sport athlete, she also earned a third-place state medal as a tennis player. She played at the club level with Union KC 2008 GA.
"I really love UMKC and the environment around it," Orosco said. "I loved the coaches, the stadium and the campus and it felt like a place that I could thrive in."
Mia Ozanne comes to Kansas City from Madison, Wis., and played at Madison West High School. She played at the varsity level all four seasons and was named First Team All-Conference twice and Honorable Mention her sophomore season. She also played basketball and played at the club level for Wisconsin Rush, and the Rockford Raptors ECNL and USL-W.
"One of the biggest factors in my decision to play at UMKC was the atmosphere," Ozanne said. "The coaches were so welcoming and so was the rest of the team. I also loved the feeling of being on campus, it really felt like somewhere that I could picture myself being."
A native of Omaha, Neb., Mia Urosevich comes to Kansas City from Omaha Westside High School. The forward was a four-year starter at Omaha Westside, scoring 22 goals and tallying 19 assists across her career. She was a team captain in her junior and senior seasons, earning All-Metro honors. She was also an All-State honoree in both basketball and cross country. At the club level, she spent time with Sporting Nebraska FC, earning U15 ECNL Heartland All-Regional and U14 Nebraska Best XI honors.
"I chose to play soccer at Kansas City because it felt right," Urosevich said. "Right away, I was welcomed by the coaches and team, which made me feel seen and believed in. I wanted somewhere that I would grow not only as a player, but as a person too, and that is something that aligned with the soccer program's values. Overall, UMKC seemed like the perfect all-around fit."
Olivia Waters transfers to Kansas City after beginning her career at Rose State College. Across her two seasons at Rose State, the Raiders tallied a 28-8-3 record. The defender is originally from Edmond, Okla., graduating from Edmond North High School. While at Edmond North, she was a 2024 state champion, earning OSSAA All-District honors. She also ran track, qualifying for state in 2021 and 2022. She played at the club level with OK Energy FC, qualifying to nationals in 2023 and 2024 and earning a spot on the 2023 US Youth Top 11 at Girls 17U Nationals.
"One of the biggest reasons I chose UMKC was that it offered the right balance between academics and athletics," Waters said. "Because I want to pursue dentistry, it was important for me to find a school where I could compete at a high level without sacrificing my career goals."
The Roos open the regular season at Iowa State on Aug. 16 and play their home opener against Rockhurst on Aug. 21. Tickets are available now.
