
KC's Winning Streak Snapped at Omaha

The Roos fell behind early and could not overcome the Mavs' hot shooting
OMAHA - A big second half run hurt Kansas City Men's Basketball's (10-8, 2-1 Summit) chances against Omaha (9-9, 3-0 Summit) this evening, falling 77-58. The Roos kept the game within striking distance until midway through the second half, when a 13-point Maverick run put things out of reach.
The Roos shot just 35.3% from the field on the game while allowing the Mavs to connect on more than 50% of their shots. Kansas City was also stunted by 4-of-21 three-point shooting.
Babacar Diallo led KC's scoring efforts, going for 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Jamar Brown and Jayson Petty went for 12 apiece and Brown led the Roos with five rebounds.
KEY MOMENTS | HIGHLIGHTS
- 1H - 12:39 / 12-10 | Diallo stopped on a dime in the middle of the lane, rising for a jumper and sending it home. He scored nine of Kansas City's first 12 points for an early lead, but Omaha responded with a 11-2 run and never looked back.
- 1H - 4:41 / 21-25 | Brown connected from three for his first points of the game, bringing the Roos back within four.
- 1H - 2:03 / 24-27 | Gob Gob nailed a triple, ending a scoreless streak of over two minutes. Omaha would respond with a 6-1 run to take control heading into the half.

STATS TO NOTE
- The Roos 19% three-point shooting was their second-lowest of the season and snapped a six-game streak of shooting at least 30% from beyond the arc.
- Diallo has now led Kansas City's scoring efforts twice this season and four times in his three-year career.
- KC went 18-of-23 from the charity stripe, led by Petty's 10-of-13 night from the line.
