Odyssey Warren set a career-high with 19 kills on .484 hitting, while Middle Blockers De'Janae Arnold and Carly Gillen combined for 21 kills on .667 hitting.
KEY MOMENTS

- S3 | Neither team could gain an advantage early in the third set until a Maddie Renn ace put the Roos up 9-8, a lead which KC would not surrender for the rest of the set.
- S3 | A kill by Brecka put the Roos up 18-15. Brecka sent across four kills on eight attacks with zero errors in the third.

STATS TO NOTE
- Arnold finished the night with 14 kills on 20 attacks with zero errors, good for a .700 hitting percentage. That bests her 11 kill, zero error performance against South Dakota State last season for the most kills without an error in her career.
- Warren paced the Roos throughout the match, finishing with a career-high 19 kills. It is just the second time in her career that she has hit above-.400 in a single match.
- Gillen finished with seven kills, beating her previous career-high of six reached against Mizzou earlier this season.
- The Roos hit at a .364 clip on the match, the highest single-game hitting percentage since hitting .364 in a four-set win over California Baptist on Nov. 4, 2019.
- Brecka finished with 10 kills and 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the year.
- Alli Schomers paced the Roos' passing game, finishing with 48 digs. It is her sixth 40-assist performance of the year and her 31st in the past three seasons.
- Kansas City was dominant in serve-receive in the fourth set, logging a 83% side out percentage.
COACH CHRISTI POSEY, QUOTED
- "(Warren) is playing with confidence, intent and had a good variety of shot making, she continues to evolve as an important attacker on our team. It's been good to see that learning taking place and her having success."
- "We felt like we had an advantage against Albany in the middle. Because we handled the ball pretty well, we were able to remain in system and feed Deja and Carly. If they could hit like that every game, we would have a pretty good chance."
- "Any time you can get multiple kids in double figures and all three attackers are a threat to score, you're at an advantage. It continues to be important that we find that balance, giving Alli options and delivering a good tempo ball to the available hitter."
- "I think we've been pretty good defensively all year, so it was good to see the offense come through like that. Credit to Maddie, Kennedy, Leah and our outsides, they were feeding great balls that allowed us to stay in system."
- "It was a good team win. Albany is deceiving and I think they're going to do well in their conference. We're excited about the growth that we continue to make. The goal now is to go get another one tomorrow, going into the match with all systems on point.
UP NEXT
The Roos will look to finish the Jayhawk Invitational with a winning record as they take on Missouri State tomorrow at 1 p.m.
