Volleyball Takes Win Streak to Lawrence

The Roos ride an eight-match winning streak to KU, where they will take on the Jayhawks, Albany and Missouri State
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Volleyball heads to Lawrence, Kan. this weekend for the Jayhawk Classic, taking on Kansas, Albany and Missouri State. It is the Roos' first time at a Kansas Invitational since 2015, when they went 1-2.
Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City enters the weekend on an eight-match win streak, the second such streak in as many years. Last season, the Roos won 11-straight from Feb. 8 through Mar. 20. The last time the Roos won eight-straight before 2020 was in 2014.
- Prior to Coach Christi Posey's tenure, the Roos had just one winning streak of eight-plus games, a nine-match streak in 1992. Since her arrival, KC has put together three winning streaks of eight-plus games.
- Kansas City is a perfect 3-0 in five-set matches, defeating Saint Louis, Arkansas State and Memphis.
- De'Janae Arnold has started the season with a .429 hitting percentage, currently 26th in Division One. If the season ended today, it would be the second-best single season hitting percentage in program history.
Kansas Notes
- Kansas enters the weekend on after sweeping through three home matches last weekend.
- Three Hawks average at least two kills per set, with Jenny Mosser leading the bunch at 3.37 KPS.
Albany Notes
- Albany enters the weekend with one win in their last six matches after starting the year 2-2.
- The Great Danes allow a .222 hitting percentage to opponents, placing them 236th in Division One.
Missouri State Notes
- The Bears have won five-straight games entering the weekend, winning their home invite last week.
- KC and MSU have played three common opponents, Memphis, SLU and Arkansas State. Both teams beat SLU and Arkansas State, while KC beat Memphis and MSU lost.
