Record Watch
- Newly ranked at No. 10 this week in the NCAA Pacific Region, the Kansas City Women's Soccer (7-1-2) team hosts the University of South Dakota (5-5-0) in the final non-conference game of the 2019 season. First kick is 1 p.m. this Sunday at Durwood Soccer Stadium.
- The Roos will celebrate eight players competing in their final season in the Blue and White as Sunday marks Senior Day.
- The following eight individuals listed below have generated an incredible impact on the Roos soccer program and will be recognized in a special on-field pre-game ceremony:
- The Roos are off to a school-record start at 7-1-2. They were undefeated through seven games, prior to its first loss in game eight on Sept. 17 against Creighton.
- In the all-time series with South Dakota, the Roos have enjoyed success to the tune of 5-1-1 overall, including a 2-0-1 mark at Durwood Stadium. The 2018 Kansas City victory (3-2) was the fifth-straight in the series. Coach Cissell is a perfect 5-0-0 against the Coyotes.
- Of 338 Division I women's soccer programs, the Roos are one of only 38 programs that have at least seven wins on the season. The Roos are sitting on a school-best start to the year at 7-1-2.
- The Roos' defense has allowed just six goals in 10 games (.574 gapg), which ranks in the Top 50 in the NCAA stat rankings. The unit has allowed one-or-fewer goals in nine of 10 games.
- With five shutouts on the year, the Roos have now compiled 15 shutouts through 31 games dating back to last year. The two shutouts in the first two games this year is a first in the 11-year history of the women's soccer program.
- With a 7-1-2 non-conference mark this year, the Roos stand 15-4-2 in non-conference contests since 2018 (not including WAC postseason tournament).
- Kansas City is nearing a program milestone. Through Sept. 24, the Roos sit at 98 all-time wins since the program started in 2009. Overall, the program is 98-92-23.
- Sophomore forward Rylan Childers presently ranks among the top-50 in the NCAA in six different major offensive categories. She is among the nation's best in total goals (6), game-winning goals (2), assists per game (0.60), total assists (6), total points (18) and points per game (1.80).
NCAA RPI Rankings
- Kansas City continues to set benchmarks of success in the Western Athletic Conference as the Roos are the highest rated conference team in the latest NCAA RPI list, published on Sept. 22. The Roos check in at No. 73 on the rankings, which is ahead of the next highest rated WAC team, Seattle U, by 17 positions.
Scouting South Dakota
- The Coyotes come into town fresh off a victory against WAC-member New Mexico State by a 5-2 score on Thursday. That victory was the fourth in-a-row for South Dakota after starting the year 1-5.
- Alexis Mitchell leads the team in points (10) and assists (4) and is tied for tops in goals with three. Four other players have notched at least two goals. South Dakota utilizes two goalkeepers in the net with Emma Harkleroad recording the most minutes (552) and saves (35).
Pacific Region Rankings
- For the second time this year, Kansas City holds down a ranking in the 2019 NCAA Pacific Region, this time listed at No. 10 in the Sept. 24 edition. It now marks the second-straight year Kansas City was listed in the region rankings, reaching to as high as No. 8 last season. Listed below are the weekly rankings.

Record Watch
- Heading into Sunday, sophomore Rylan Childers needs two more assists to tie her older sister, Reighan, for the career assists mark. Two more helpers would give Rylan 22 in her career.
- Head coach Chris Cissell is nearing 100 career wins at Kansas City. He holds 96 heading into the game against South Dakota. In 21 collegiate women's soccer seasons, Cissell stands with 264 victories.
