
Preview: Women's Soccer Contests Utah Valley in WAC Semifinals

SEATTLE -- The third-seed Kansas City Women's Soccer (13-3-4) team faces No. 2 seed Utah Valley (10-8-1) in the WAC semifinals tonight at 9 p.m. CT. The Wolverines had a quarterfinal bye as a top-two seed. The semifinal winner will match up with the other semifinal champion – No. 1 Seattle U / No. 5 UT Rio Grande Valley – on Sunday in the title game at 1 pm PT. The Roos are attempting to win their first-ever WAC tournament championship, having appeared in the game four previous times, including two of the past three years. The tournament is hosted by Seattle U.

WAC Quarterfinal Recap
The Roos opened up the tournament with a 2-0 victory against No. 6 seed Grand Canyon on Wednesday. It was the fifth-straight victory for the Roos on the season. All-WAC First Team midfielder Rylan Childers was credited with an assist on Amanda Sampson's game-winner. That helper gave Childers 10 on the season and 24 in her career. Last Saturday, Childers established the school's career assists mark playing in her sophomore season. Since a 0-2-2 stretch to open up conference play, the Blue and White has gone 5-0 and out-scored those opponents by a combined 11-1 margin. The five-game win streak is a season-long and the best stretch since a seven-gamer last season during the Roos' regular-season championship.
