For the Kansas City native, the 27 assists and team-high 13 digs marked her eighth double-double of the season.
In the opening set, the 'Roos grabbed their first lead of the match at 10-9 on a kill from freshman Sydney Crimmins, but Fort Wayne scored the next two to retake the lead. UMKC would re-tie the game six more times over the second half of the set, including late at 21 on a Emma Hagedorn kill, before eventually falling 25-23.
Fort Wayne would extend its lead two 2-0 with a 25-11 win over the Kangaroos in set two, despite two kills and an ace from freshman Jessica Hendin in the set.
Coming out of the break, the Kangaroos built a 7-4 lead on a kill from junior Chloe Jarema, but dropped five of the next six points to fall behind by one. The 'Roos would battle back to tie the match at 10 before two straight on an IPFW error and a Hagedorn kill put UMKC in front 12-10. The 12-10 lead, however, would be the last Kansas City would hold, as the 'Roos surrendered 15 of the final 20 points to fall 25-17 in the set and 3-0 in the match.
Offensively for the 'Roos, senior Emily Lucas and Hagedorn each had nine kills, while freshman Skyler Muff added five on a team-high .308 hitting percentage.
The Blue & Gold will back in action again tomorrow night at 6 p.m. when they take on Oakland in Rochester, Mich.
