Why Kansas City?: "Playing softball at the collegiate level has been my aspiration for years. It is my belief that passion for the game, teamwork and dedicated focus to continually improving are important for the success of a team. From my first conversation with Coach Shaw, I knew this was the team I wanted to be a part of. His philosophy on the game, how he viewed talent development and the culture he wanted to create within the Kansas City softball program was exactly what I was looking for. After visiting campus and seeing the culture firsthand, it immediately felt like the right fit academically and athletically."

Coach Shaw on Reid: "Myself and my assistant coaches immediately were drawn to Sydney as soon as we were able to watch her highlight videos. She is a very solid player that has been exposed to some of the best competition that Texas has to offer. We are extremely fortunate that Sydney was available and more importantly that she was interested in UMKC and Kansas City Roos softball.
