Gulf Coast C.C. -- Transferred to Gulf Coast C.C. (Fla.) for his sophomore season, and earned honorable mention All-Panhandle Conference... Averaged 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while hitting 43 percent from the floor and 65 percent from the line... Also hit 36 three-pointers and had 17 steals... He was invited to the Jerry Mullins JUCO Top 120 Camp in Tulsa, Oklahoma after the season as well.
Norfolk State -- Played at Norfolk State as a freshman in 2009-10, seeing limited game action.
High School -- Attended the Charter School of San Diego in La Mesa, California during his high school years... Then attended prep school at Hebron Academy in 2007-08, and was rated in the top 100 players in the New England area by New England Recruiting Report... While there, he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, and two assists per game... After that he continued his prep school career at the Heat Basketball Academy in Martinsville, Virginia... He played with five other Division I basketball players there, and averaged 10 points and four rebounds per game for the No. 7 ranked prep basketball team in the nation, according to usprepbasketball.com... He helped the team to a 28-2 overall record in 2008-09.
Personal -- Born April 8, 1990 in Okinawa, Japan... Son of Jerome and Kathleen Payton... Has four siblings, Brittany, Josh, Brandyn and Briajah... Older brother Brandyn Harvey is a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL... Majoring in business marketing.
