- Kansas City aims to split the season series with South Dakota State as the Roos take on the Jackrabbits in Brookings, S.D. at 2 p.m. CT on Valentine's Day. SDSU is KC's 10th most played opponent in school history with a total of 24 games played between the two schools in the all-time series.
- Last time out, Tierra Trotter scored 20 points against South Dakota, falling a point shy of her career high of 21 points that she set back on Dec. 28 against Missouri. Trotter also dished out six assists, bumping her season average to 3.3 assists per game, the third best mark in the Summit League this season.Â
- Kelby Bannerman posted 16 points and seven rebounds Thursday in Vermillion. The graduate forward also notched four blocks and shot 50% (7-14) from the field, tying single game career-highs in blocks and field goal attempts against the Coyotes.Â
- Last time the Roos and Jackrabbits squared off, Emani Bennett delivered a team-high 21 points while grabbing five rebounds and shooting 8-17 from the field on Jan. 24 in the Swinney Center. Bennett is 15th on the Roos all-time scoring list after crossing the 1,000 point mark on Jan. 15 at Oral Roberts.Â
- In the Roos 10 games against top 105 NET teams, Kansas City has forced opponents into comitting 14.2 turnovers per game. The Roos force an average of 18.4 turnovers per game, the second highest mark in the Summit and 92nd in the country. KC holds a turnover margin of 3.36, ranking 72nd nationally. Â
- South Dakota State checks in at 19-6 overall and 9-2 in Summit League action this season. The Jackrabbits will look to make it three in a row as SDSU comes off an 84-51 win over St. Thomas and a 94-48 win over North Dakota.Â
- South Dakota State beats Kansas City 76-63 in the first matchup of the 2025-26 season. The Jackrabbits have won 23 out of the 24 all-time games played between the two schools and the last 19 in the series.
- South Dakota State ranks No. 8 in the latest edition of College Insider's Mid Major Top 25 Poll, gaining 515 points. The Jackrabbits were picked to finish first in the Summit League in the preseason after going 16-0 en-route to the 2024-25 regular season crown.Â
- Brooklyn Meyer leads the Summit League in scoring at 21.4 points per game. Meyer posted 25 points and eight rebounds vs. the Roos earlier this year.Â
