Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Basketball hits the road for a nationally-televised game on Sunday afternoon, playing St. Thomas in Minnesota on CBS Sports Network. This will be the second time the Roos play on national television this season, also playing Oklahoma on the SEC Network on Dec. 16.
- The Roos are coming off a competitive 69-61 loss to Denver that saw Kansas City lead for 19:35 of game time. Kansas City was short-handed in the loss, down its two leading scorers (Karmello Branch, 12.7 ppg; CJ Evans, 12.2 ppg).
- Kasheem Grady II made his way into the starting lineup for the first time since Dec. 31, finishing with a team-high 17 points on 8-of-12 free throw shooting. Grady has led the Roos' scoring efforts in each of the last four games and is averaging 16.8 points per game across that span, increasing his season scoring average to 10.8 points per game.
- Trey Booker-Lowery has seen an increased role in recent games, playing 10-plus minutes in each of the last four contests after reaching that mark just four times in the first 18 games combined. He played a season-high 22 minutes against the Pioneers, going for seven points and four rebounds.
- Babacar Mbengue made his presence felt against DU, blocking a career-high four shots. He played just 10 minutes, becoming one of three players in the NCAA this season to go for four blocks in 10 minutes or less.
- St. Thomas enters Sunday's contest with a 17-6 record, including a 6-2 mark in league play. The Tommies most recently dropped an 81-80 decision to UND, snapping a 28-game home winning streak.
