CJ Evans returned to the Kansas City lineup with a team-high 16 points
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Kansas City men's basketball (4-19, 1-8 Summit) fell to St. Thomas (18-6, 7-2 Summit) this afternoon, 99-64. After missing the Roos' previous game against Denver, CJ Evans and Karmello Branch returned to the lineup today, each reaching double-digits for KC.
The Roos scored the first points of the day on a three from Branch, but the Tommies' hot shooting quickly took hold. St. Thomas shot 18-of-31 from the field, dropping 10 three-pointers in the first half and jumped out to a 27-point halftime lead.
Evans and Addarin Scott did the bulk of Kansas City's scoring in the second half as Evans went for 10 points and Scott added eight of his own. Scott finished the day with 12 points, marking a new career high.
Evans gave KC a team-high 16 points and was active across the score sheet, adding seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Branch finished the day with 11 points and four assists.
The Roos are back in action on Wednesday evening, hosting South Dakota in the Swinney Center. Tickets are available at kcroos.com/MBBtix.
