The Roos were two outs away from a victory against Tulsa but fell just short
TULSA, Okla. - Kansas City Softball (0-11) had its chances today in Oklahoma, but fell in a pair of games. Kansas City dropped the first game of the weekend in a 6-3 decision to Drake before a 6-5 walk-off loss at Tulsa. Chloe Kohnhorst went 2-of-3 against the Bulldogs while Lauren Parker and Derika Castillo each posted multi-hit performances against Tulsa. Maddy Duvall went the distance against the Golden Hurricane, allowing just four earned runs and striking out five.

- Top 1 / 1-0 | Ava Martinez drew a walk in the top of the first and Briona Woods moved her to third with a single to left field. Castillo then stepped up to the plate, grounding into a fielder's choice that brought Martinez in to score.
- Bottom 2 / 1-1 | Drake tied the game in the bottom of the first but Riley Bebb got three-straight groundouts to go 1-2-3 in the second.
- Top 5 / 2-4 | Leilani Bustamante, Katie Noble and Gianna Lickel loaded the bases up for a pinch-hitting Taylor Kvale, who was hit by a pitch and brought Bustamante in.
KEY MOMENTS VS. TULSA
- Top 2 / 3-2 | Kansas City jumped out to a lead in the top of the second, sparked by a double from Elleana Navarro that brought Katie Noble and Katelyn Maciel in to score. Navarro took home later on in a double-steal situation, claiming the lead.
- Bottom 4 / 3-2 | Duvall got the Golden Hurricane to go three up, three down, spurred by a strikeout to start the inning.
- Top 5 / 5-2 | Parker and Lickel singled back-to-back to open the fifth and both were driven in by a Briona Woods double two batters later.
