THE STARTERS
- Kansas City Women's Basketball closes the regular season on the road with a pair of games in North Dakota. The Roos currently rank fifth in the Summit League and are one win ahead of North Dakota who they face on Saturday. KC has a chance to sweep NSDU on Thursday, after defeating the Bison, 56-51 on Jan. 18.Â
- In their first meeting, the Roos forced 25 Bison turnovers, giving way to 23 points. Tamia Ugass and Ana Oliveira Dias came off the bench for KC and combined for 19 points and five steals.Â
- The Kansas City defense held South Dakota State to its lowest three-point percentage of conference play and second-lowest of the season on Saturday. The Jackrabbits shot 6-for-26 from beyond the arc, for their lowest three-point percentage since Nov. 23 when they went 4-of-20 (.200) in the loss against Georgia Tech.Â
- Alayna Contreras knocked down four threes against South Dakota State matching her season-high. Emani Bennett and Contreras are the only two Roos to knock down four threes in one game. The Roos hold a 4-2 record when at least one player makes four threes.Â
- NSDU outrebounded the Roos 38-to-33 in the first meeting marking one of six conference games where Kansas City has been outrebounded but their opponents. KC has found other ways to win when they are outrebounded by their opponents holding a 4-2 record when their opponent brings down more rebounds.Â
