ST. PAUL - The start of league play brought nothing but the same for Kansas City Men's Soccer (6-2-2, 1-0-0 Summit) this afternoon in Minnesota, taking down St. Thomas (3-3-2, 0-1-0 Summit), 3-0. The story of the season has been red-hot offensive firepower, and that remained the case today as the Roos poured in three goals, one each from Elie Kisoka, Sora Shibata and Jesper Van Halderen. Brandon McGaugh posted his second-straight shutout, his third total on the year.

KEY MOMENTS | HIGHLIGHTS

11' / 0-0 | Kansas City applied pressure on the Tommies defense early, earning three-straight corner kicks. Guille Munoz laid a ball to Luke Hoelting on the left side of the goal for a shot, but his attempt was just wide.
38' / 1-0 | The Roos' consistent attack paid off late in the first half as Kisoka opened the scoring. Brevyn Cole brought the ball up the right side, deking a Tommie defender and playing a cross to the six-yard box. Kisoka rose up and headed the ball into the net for the eventual game-winner.

65' / 2-0 | Shibata had wreaked havoc on the St. Thomas defense all game long, and he was finally rewarded as he brought the ball across, sending a screaming shot into the back of the net.

87' / 3-0 | The Roos were not finished scoring late in the game as Fernando Somolinos Bravo found Kisoka on the edge of the box. Kisoka sent a through ball to a streaking Van Halderen, who sealed the deal with his first goal of the season.

Kisoka now has three game-winning goals on the season, a mark that paces the Summit League. His 18 total points is currently four more than anyone else in the league.
Shibata and Van Halderen each scored their first-career goals this afternoon, giving KC 11 different goal scorers on the year.
The Roos out-shot St. Thomas 24-6, the squad's largest shot discrepancy on the season.
Mathias Baucher and Sam Safly each earned their first-career starts today. Baucher wound up playing the full 90 minutes.
