Jeremy Francou scored in the 81st minute to salvage a draw for KC
OMAHA - Kansas City Men's Soccer (6-2-3, 1-0-1 Summit) found its backs against the wall late against Omaha (6-2-3, 1-1-1 Summit) this afternoon, but rose to the moment and found an equalizing goal to secure a point against the Mavericks, 1-1. Julien Le Bourdoulous found Jeremy Francou for the 81st minute equalizer and Brandon McGaugh made four saves to give the Roos the draw.
KEY MOMENTS
- 7' / 0-0 | Kansas City earned a corner early in the game and Le Bourdoulous sent a looping cross into the box. Elie Kisoka got underneath the pass and headed it towards goal, saved by UNO's Nathaniel Sallah.
- 12' / 0-0 | Le Bourdoulous drove the ball past the midfield mark and let a shot fly from nearly 50 yards, finding the frame and forcing Sallah into a difficult save.
- 39' / 0-0 | Omaha's Wawa Palga had a clean look at goal late in the first half, but McGaugh laid out and kept the game even heading into the break.

- 70' / 0-1 | A well-played free kick was sent into the box and bounced around to the head of Hector Taboada for a shot, but his attempt was saved by Sallah.
- 81' / 1-1Â | Kansas City found the equalizing opportunity late in the game as Le Bourdoulous played a long pass forward to Francou. He brought the ball down, positioning it for a strike and sending a burner into the back of the net. Both teams had opportunities in the game's final nine minutes but neither were able to score a winner.

STATS TO NOTE
- The Roos out-shot the Mavericks, 18-17 and were 8-5 in shots on goal.
- Le Bourdoulous was aggressive throughout, attempting four shots and tallying his fourth assist of the year. He is now tied for the team lead in assists with his first point since Sep. 6.
- Kansas City did not reach too deeply into its bench as 9-of-11 starters played 70-plus minutes, including 90-minute shifts for McGaugh, Kisoka, Le Bourdoulous, Brevyn Cole, Mathias Baucher, Bryson Gosch and Fernando Somolinos Bravo.
- The Roos and Mavericks have now drawn in four of their last five meetings dating back to 2022.
