Fifteenth-Ranked Roos Host USF in Final Game of Home Stand

Kansas City Men's Soccer wraps up its season-opening three-game home stand with a battle against San Francisco after extending its program-record home unbeaten streak to 15 games with a 1-0 victory over UNLV on Tuesday.
Shotaro Kodama scored the game-winner in the 54th minute for his second-career goal. The first goal of his career came on Sep. 21 of last season, one of KC's three goals in a win over Western Illinois.
Kevin Nkumu tallied the primary assist on Kodama's winner, giving him an assist in each of the Roos' first two games. He is currently tied with Marc Ramarola for the team lead and has surpassed his assist total from the 2025 season.
After starting and logging shutouts in each of the first two games, Brandon Kincaid has moved into a tie for fourth in program history with eight career shutouts. The Roos remain one of 13 programs in the nation that are yet to allow a goal.
The Roos have logged 10 assists on their first six goals of the season, ranking fifth in the nation in total assists and 19th in goals scored per game.

San Francisco Notes

San Francisco enters Sunday's game with an 0-2-1 record, most notably earning a draw against then-No. 14 UNC Greensboro on Aug. 23.
David Raphael currently leads the Dons with two goals on the young season. The 2025 WCC First Teamer scored eight goals last season and has 14 total on his career.
USF averages 15.0 shots per game through three games, the 49th-highest shot rate in the nation.
These teams have met three times before - in 2000, 2009 and 2024. San Francisco owns a 2-0-1 advantage in the series.
The most recent meeting was played on Aug. 24, 2024, a 2-2 draw that saw Raphael Kistmann score his first-career goal.
