25th-Ranked Roos Remain at Durwood for Meeting with UNLV

Kansas City Men's Soccer prepares for a second-straight home game on Tuesday evening, hosting UNLV after a 5-0 thrashing of SIUE in the season opener. The Roos moved up to No. 19 in the TopDrawerSoccer Top 25 after the win and remain at No. 25 in the United Soccer Coaches poll as of the release of these notes.
Thursday's win over the Cougars extended the Roos' program-record 14-game home unbeaten streak, dating back to Oct. 26 of the 2024 season. The previous record of 10-straight results at home occurred from Oct. 13, 2007 to Sep. 18, 2009.
Kansas City's five-goal margin of victory was the Roos' largest win against a Division I opponent since a 7-1 victory over IUPUI in 2002 and was the largest overall margin of victory since a record-setting 12-0 win over Avila in 2024.
Raphael Kistmann was the man of the match against SIUE, scoring the game-winner in the 10th minute and finishing the evening with a brace and an assist. His five total points were the most by a Roo since he did the same in a win over NIU on Sep. 6, 2024.
Of the 211 full Division I men's soccer members, the Roos remain one of just 34 squads that are yet to allow a goal. Bryson Gosch and Miguel Fernandez each played 81 minutes in the backline against the Cougars, while Brandon Kincaid played all 90 minutes in goal, making one save.

UNLV Notes

UNLV sits at 1-0 on the young season after a 2-1 season-opening win over CSUN on Thursday evening, led by a brace from Maxim Scordo.
The Rebels went 4-6-6 last season, including a 1-2-2 record in Western Athletic Conference play.
UNLV will participate as a full member of the Mountain West this year, the first season that the conference has hosted men's soccer as a championship sport.
Scordo was named Mountain West Player of the Week following his two-goal performance against CSUN.
UNLV holds a 6-3-0 edge in the all-time series between the two teams, who played every year from 2013-19 as members of the WAC.
The most recent meeting went the Roos' way, a 3-2 win on Sep. 19, 2024. Mathias Baucher scored the game-winner in the 64th minute, the lone goal of his career.
