Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City opens Summit League play in Minnesota on Saturday, taking on St. Thomas for the first of eight league contests. Across the past 10 years, the Roos are 4-4-2 in conference opening matches.
- The Roos continued their scorching hot offensive production in a 4-0 win over Tulsa on Tuesday, the first win over the Golden Hurricane since 1995.Â
- Kansas City has now scored at least three goals in three-straight matches and in five of its nine matches so far this season. The last time KC went for three-plus goals in three-straight games was during the 2008 season.
- Raphael Kistmann scored his fifth goal of the season against the Golden Hurricane, bringing him one goal behind Elie Kisoka for the team lead. The last time KC had two players combine for 11 goals was in 2022, when Kazuki Kimura (6) and Christian Koffi (5) led the Roos to a 7-5-5 record.
- Jack Dean and Miguel Fernandez both scored against Tulsa for their first goals of the season. Nine different Kansas City players have tallied a goal this year, the most in the Summit League.Â
- Kisoka assisted on Fernandez's game-winner against the Golden Hurricane, giving him 15 total points on the season. That is tied for the most in the Summit League and is the 10th-most in the NCAA.
- Brandon McGaugh made three saves against Tulsa, bringing him to second in the Summit with 29 total saves on the year.
St. Thomas NotesÂ
- The Tommies enter Summit League play with a 3-2-2 record, but are 2-1-0 in their three games, including wins over St. Cloud State and Stonehill.
- Faris Colic leads UST with four goals on the season and is the only Tommie to notch multiple goals so far this year.
- Kansas City leads the all-time series between these two teams, 2-1-1, but is still looking for its first win in St. Paul.
- The last meeting between these squads came by way of a rain-soaked Oct. 28, 2023 game in Kansas City, in which Edson Murguia scored the game-winner in the 89th minute.
