Kansas City Women’s Basketball Welcomes Idaho State

The Roos and Bengals match up for game two of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge
THE STARTERS
- Kansas City Women's Basketball will look to pick up its second consecutive win at home, this time against Idaho State. Saturday's game marks the first meeting between the schools in program history with the Bengals facing North Dakota and South Dakota in last year's challenge.
- Elauni Bennett had a standout performance in KC's loss to Sacramento State, notching the first double-double of her career. She improved her previous career-high of seven rebounds by six, to put her at a game-leading 13 rebounds. El. Bennett was also one of three Roos to reach double-digits in the game, knocking down 10 points.
- Sophomore guard, Ana Oliveira Dias made her first career start for the Roos at Sacramento State. Dias has been a key player for KC on the defensive end averaging 3.1 steals per game. She ranks first in the Summit and 20th in the nation for steals. At Sacramento State, she played a season-high 31 minutes earning four steals and four points.
- The Roos lead the Summit League in offensive rebounds averaging 16.2 per game. KC earned a season-high 23 offensive rebounds at Sacramento State and currently ranks 19th in the nation in the same category.
- Going into Saturday's games the Summit League and Big Sky are tied in the challenge with 10.5 points each. 4.5 of which were earned by Women's Basketball programs.
SCOUTING IDAHO STATE
- The Bengals enter the game on a two-game winning streak, picking up a 73-61 win over Denver to open the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.
- Last season, the Bengals fell to Summit League schools both home and away, losing to North Dakota 72-78 and South Dakota 47-73.
- Idaho State is still looking to pick up its first win in an away game this season. The Bengals are 0-3 on the road, but 1-1 at neutral sites falling to Vermont 44-64 in Cancun, Mexico but defeating Rhode Island 52-50 in the Cancun Challenge.
- Halle Wright leads the Bengals in scoring averaging 10.9 points per game. She earned a season-high 15 points at TCU and is the only Bengal to average in the double digits.
- A win on the road would allow the Bengals to contribute 1.5 points to the Big Sky tally. Last year, the Summit League won the inaugural challenge.
