Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer hosts its penultimate game of the regular season on Sunday evening at 7 p.m., welcoming Avila to Durwood Soccer Stadium.
- The Roos take a welcome break from Summit League play, taking on their final non-conference opponent of the regular season. KC has put together a 5-2-2 record in non-league games so far this year. Six non-con wins would be the program's most since the 2010 squad went 6-4-2 outside of the Summit.
- When the Roos and Eagles kick off on Nov. 3, it will mark Kansas City's latest non-conference game since 2011 when Kansas City took on SIUE in a Nov. 4 meeting.
- The Roos are coming off a 2-1 loss at the hands of No. 12/4 Denver, Kansas City's second loss in league play. The loss dropped KC to second place in the Summit League table.
- Hector Taboada scored Kansas City's lone goal against the Pioneers, giving him four goals total on the year. He stands alone with the third-most goals by a Roo this season, breaking a tie with Luke Hoelting.
- Kansas City has put 25 players on the pitch throughout the season and of those 25, 16 have scored at least one point. Furthermore, the Roos have had nine outfield players play more than 800 minutes, and all nine of them have logged a goal or an assist.
- According to the NCAA's website, Kansas City currently ranks 35th in the nation in RPI. The only Summit League team ahead of KC is Denver (#4).
Avila NotesÂ
- Avila currently hold 3-13 record, including a 3-9 mark in KCAC play. The Eagles will take on Bethel College before Sunday's game.
- Avila's leading offensive threat is Vincent Escott, who has scored five goals and logged four assists on the year.
- These two teams have met five times in the past, with the Eagles holding a 3-2 all-time advantage. However, the last meeting in the series came in 1993.
- Kansas City Head Coach Ryan Pore and Avila Head Coach Robert Kelly are no strangers. Kelly was on the Tulsa roster in 2014, where Pore was an assistant/associate head coach from 2013-19.
