Five Roos played a full 90 minutes in the loss
BROOKINGS, S.D. — The decision came early between Kansas City Women's Soccer (6-4-3) and South Dakota State (8-2-1) with the Jackrabbits finding the back of the net in the first minute and ultimately walking away with a 1-0 win. The Roos looked to battle back with a handful of chances on corners and set pieces but could not find the equalizing goal. Maddie Sibbing fought off seven shots to hold the Jackrabbits to just one goal in the match.

- 1' / 1 – 0 | The Jackrabbits jumped out to an early lead stringing together a goal in the first minute of play. SDSU launched a ball, that brought Sibbing off her line. Sibbing got a hand on the ball, sending it to the left of goal. Sibbing, following her dive, reset making a save on the far side. SDSU's Katelyn Beulke was able to finish on the rebound to put the Jackrabbits on the board.
- 5' / 1 – 0 | After the SDSU goal, the Roos got to work looking for an equalizer on a corner kick. The Blue and Gold had a chance on the well-placed kick, but offsides prevented them from capitalizing on the opportunity.
- 57' / 1 – 0 | A second-half corner kick, brought the Roos another scoring opportunity. Brianna Castleberry placed the ball at the top of the six-yard box finding Emery Ruliffson but her shot attempt was blocked.
- 86' / 1 – 0 | Kansas City was awarded a free kick outside the 18-yard box. Ruliffson fired the kick low to the ground, and an SDSU defender came up with the block. Ruliffson followed the rebound firing off another shot that had to be blocked but was not able to land one on frame.
- Sibbing notched seven saves in the match, just one shy of her career-high eight saves that she earned against Denver on Sep. 26. Sibbing has made five or more saves in five of her seven appearances this season. She ranks second in the Summit in saves per game with 6.67.
- Kansas City allowed its ninth goal of the season tonight but held the Jackrabbits significantly below their season average of 2.36 goals per game.
- Kayda Kamolz, Sophia Limongi, Ruliffson, Kinsley Smith and Sibbing each played the full 90 minutes in tonight's game. The five appeared for 90 minutes against NDSU with Limongi, Ruliffson, Smith and Subbing playing 90 minutes in every conference match.
