Starting Five
- Kansas City returns to play on Saturday, looking to snap a two-game losing streak. It will be the Roos' first game in a week, the third time this season that KC has has a week break in-between games. In the last five years, the Roos hold a 6-6 record when coming into a regular season game with six-plus days of rest.
- Babacar Diallo had a standout performance in the Roos' most recent game against North Dakota, going for 14 points, seven assists and three steals. All four of those numbers set, or tied, season-high marks and since entering the starting lineup, he is averaging 6.0 assists per game. He is one of three Roos this season to notch a three-steal game, joining Artese Stapleton and Jamar Brown.
- Brown continues to cement himself as one of the Summit League's best all-around players, averaging a team-leading 13.9 points to go along with 6.4 rebounds per game. Brown ranks top-12 in the league in double-doubles (5; 2nd), field goal percentage (44.3, 8th), minutes per game (34:14, 5th), total points (265, 8th), offensive rebounds per game (2.63, 3rd), rebounds per game (6.4, 5th) and three-pointers made (32, 12th).
- Leading the league and ranking 27th in the nation in three-point percentage, Cameron Faas is the Roos' top long-range threat. He knocks down an average of 2.53 triples per game on 42.5% shooting, and has made at least one three in every game this year.
- The Roos' depth has helped keep them in games this season, averaging a league-leading 24.95 bench points per game. Khristion Courseault has come off the bench in KC's last three games and is averaging 14.3 points per game during that span, bringing his season average up to 9.1 points.
Omaha Notes
- The Mavericks sit at 10-10 on the season and 3-2 in league play, but are coming off a 90-87 loss to South Dakota State on Thursday.
- In the all-time series, the two teams are tied with seven wins each. The home team generally has the advantage, as KC is 1-4 all-time in Omaha.
- The Roos swept the regular season series last season, but the Mavericks got a win in the First Round of the Summit League Tournament, defeating KC 73-61 in the #7 vs. #10 game.
- The Mavs are proficient in limiting opponents' offense, allowing just 70.6 points per game, the lowest mark in the league. Omaha translates that defense into a fast-paced offense, scoring 12.7 fastbreak points per game.
- Frankie Fidler is the leader of the Maverick offense, averaging 18.8 points per game.
