9/24/2023 3:20:00 PM | Women's Soccer
Four shots on goal from Castleberry were not enough to get the Roos on the board
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Kansas City Women's Soccer (1-3-7, 0-0-2) earned its sixth consecutive draw, tying North Dakota (4-5-3, 0-1-1) 0-0 in their second matchup of Summit League play. Both the Roos and Fighting Hawks saw a handful of chances, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. Brianna Castleberry put up a career-high performance for the Roos, documenting all four of the Roos shots on goal. The 11 Fighting Hawk fouls gave Kansas City a few looks on set pieces, but the UND goalie kept the Roos scoreless in the box. Riley Moore came up with a handful of big stops for the Roos, documenting her second-career shutout performance.

KEY MOMENTS
- 15' / 0-0 |The Roos saw their first scoring chance of the day on a dangerous cross into the box from Castleberry. Madison Page stood on the back side of the keeper, ready to knock the ball into the goal, but the UND goalie held the line and jumped up to make the save.
- 41' / 0-0 | In a drive to the goal, the Fighting Hawks strung together a handful of passes before launching one low to the middle of the goal. Moore made the stop, smothering the ball to keep the score even at zero.
- 56' / 0-0 | Lily Hollis crossed one deep into the box; Page was able to get her head on it, but the shot went just right of the post. The Roos drew a foul on the next play, allowing them a free kick just left outside the 18-yard box. Castleberry landed the kick on frame, but the UND keeper came up with another big stop.
- 75' / 0-0 | Alisha Sandoval found the feet of Castleberry in the middle of the 18-yard box. Castleberry dribbled the ball in and took a shot on the keeper's short side. The UND goalie made a diving save to keep the game scoreless but allowed the Roos a corner kick. The Roos earned a second corner kick off the drive but were not able to convert.

The last time the Roos earned a scoreless draw during Summit League play was on March 19, 2020, against Omaha.
- The Fighting Hawks and the Roos now sit at a two-game tying streak. UND and KC tied 1-1 last season on Oct. 9 in Kansas City.

- This shutout brings Moore's goals against average to 1.66 on the season, compared to last year's 2.36 which Moore earned across her six appearances.
