Despite a brace from Brianna Castleberry, the Roos could not keep up with the Golden Eagles

KANSAS CITY - A two-goal performance from Brianna Castleberry was not enough for Kansas City Women's Soccer this afternoon, as the Roos fell to Oral Roberts, 5-2. The Golden Eagles scored twice within the first 20 minutes of the game, adding three more throughout the match to snap KC's six-match draw streak.

KEY MOMENTS

18' / 0-2 | The Golden Eagles reached the back of the net twice on their first two shots, before KC attempted its first shot of the night.
20' / 0-2 | Kayda Kamolz ripped two-straight shots, putting one on frame in the Roos' first offensive opportunities of the day.
26' / 1-2 | Kamolz created a turnover on the edge of the attacking third and quickly played the ball to a streaking Castleberry, who took a first touch shot and buried it in the upper-right corner. ORU added a third goal just minutes later.

45' / 1-3 | Holland Hawkins tried to bring KC back within a goal late in the first half, but the shot was saved by the Golden Eagles.
60' / 2-4 | After ORU scored within the first seven minutes of the second half, Castleberry struck again. This time, she got behind the ORU defense and had a clean look at the goal, sneaking the ball past the keeper.
79' / 2-4 | Madison Page had a look at the goal, but it was saved by ORU's keeper. The Golden Eagles tacked on a final goal just moments later to finish the game off.

STATS TO NOTE

Castleberry's brace was the first multi-goal game of her career, and the first by a Roo since Kassi Ginther against Southern Illinois on Aug. 27, 2021.
The Roos attempted 12 shots on the day, their seventh game this season and third in-a-row reaching double digits.
Sophia Limongi was the Roos' lone outfield player to play the full 90 minutes. She attempted one shot on the day, placing it on frame.
