Why Kansas City: "I wanted to play for my hometown."
Coach Smith on Sandoval: "Alisha has been an anchor in the midfield on a very successful club team for the last several years and we are really excited about the quality she brings to our team. Her field vision, composure under pressure and passing consistency will improve our success in possession, which will help us create more scoring chances. Defensively, her tactical awareness allows her to cut off passes and screen balls into the feet of forwards. Alisha's timing on tackles makes it difficult to get in behind and will help secure central space for us."
