Stefano Camerlengo made seven saves in his first-career clean sheet, helping the Roos earn a point
PEORIA, Ill. - Kansas City Men's Soccer went into Shea Stadium and came out with a point behind the steady hands of goalkeeper Stefano Camerlengo, who posted his first-career clean sheet in the Roos' 0-0 draw with Bradley. Both teams had their fair share of opportunities, with the Braves attempting 13 shots and Kansas City firing off 11, but neither side could find the back of the net.Â
For the second time in as many games, Julien Le Bourdoulous led the Roos' offensive efforts, taking four shots and placing one on goal. Five other Kansas City players attempted at least one shot, with sophomores Eliott Labeth and Luke Hoelting each attempting two.
KEY MOMENTS
- 2' / 0-0 | The Braves had an early opportunity at the goal, but Camerlengo calmly made his first save of the day.
- 17' / 0-0 | It took a bit of time for the Roos to settle into their offense, as Edson Murguia attempted the first shot of the day from well outside the box, firing it high of the crossbar.
- 30' / 0-0 | Mere minutes after subbing into the game, Luke Hoelting made an impact, jumping in to intercept a pass and turning towards goal. He ripped a shot from the left side towards the post, but Bradley's keeper laid out and kept the game scoreless.
- 42' / 0-0 | Bradley piled up offensive opportunities late in the half, but Camerlengo made three saves in the span of 10 minutes, sending the game into the break still tied.
- 51' / 0-0 | The Roos emerged from the half with a sense of urgency, controlling possession early as Hoelting and Le Bourdoulous each attempted a shot during the 51st minute.
- 62' / 0-0 | One of the Braves' most compelling opportunities of the day came from a free kick just outside the edge of the box. A shot was sent towards the upper right hand corner, but Camerlengo put a glove out and punched it away and Le Bourdoulous settled and cleared the ball away.

- 73' / 0-0 | Kansas City began to dominate possession late in the game, creating a plethora of opportunities. Le Bourdoulous put a low shot on-frame, but Bradley's keeper made a save.
- 86' / 0-0 | The Roos' final chances at the goal came in the 86th minute, as Le Bourdoulous attempted his last shot of the game, a blast that deflected off a Bradley defender and out for a corner kick. The corner attempt was sent on a line towards the near post, when Christian Koffi stepped in and used his head to redirect it, but the shot was off target.
STATS TO NOTE
- After defeating the Braves in a 3-2 decision last season and coming away with a draw today, this marks the first time in 12 meetings that the Roos have clinched back-to-back decisions against Bradley.
- With four shot attempts today, Le Bourdoulous is far-and-away the Roos' shot leader, attempting seven on the season. The next closest is Koffi, with three.
- In his second game in a Roo uniform, Camerlengo came away with his first-career clean sheet. His seven saves are the tied for the second-most by a KC keeper in a zero goal effort in the past eight seasons, trailing just Cooper Clark's eight-save night in a 1-0 win over Eastern Illinois on Oct. 22 of last year.
- The Roos were whistled for 19 fouls on the day, compared to just eight for the Braves.
