Ramarola scored the equalizer in the 90th minute against SMU
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Kansas City Men's Soccer's Mark Ramarola was named the Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week for games played through Sep. 6, as was announced by the league today. Ramarola scored his first career goal, a late-game equalizer that gave the Roos a result against third-ranked SMU on the road on Friday evening.
Ramarola played 78 total minutes against the Mustangs, attempting a team-leading three shots and placing two on goal. His biggest shot came in the 90th minute, taking a cross from Bryce Outman and slotting it away with just 44 seconds remaining in the game.Â
It was the first goal of Ramarola's career, but he has made his impact felt in other ways this season. Through five games, he has made five starts, playing 326 total minutes. He is tied for the team lead with two assists and is tied for second on the team with four total points.Â
The honor is the first of Ramarola's collegiate career and the first by a Kansas City player this season. The Roos are back in action on Friday evening, hosting No. 8 Michigan State at Durwood Soccer Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
