Manna Mensah goes for 27 points in the loss
FARGO, N.D. – This evening, Kansas City Women's Basketball (7-19, 3 – 12 Summit) fell to North Dakota State (15-10, 9 – 6 Summit), tied for second in the Summit League, 86 – 75. A 27-point game for Manna Mensah, along with double-digits performances Tamia Ugass and Machia Mullens were not enough to keep the Roos on top. Kansas City was aggressive from the start, shooting 43.9% from the field in the first quarter and forcing six turnovers. Leading for most of the first quarter, the Roos went into the second trailing by one 19 – 20.
Shooting 60% from three and 58.3 % from the field, Kansas City maintained the lead for most of the second quarter. Mensah got hot in the second quarter with 11 points and three triples. The Roos faced foul trouble early and paid for it later in the game, but went into halftime up by six.
The foul issues continued with Kansas City getting four fouls in the first two minutes of the third quarter. A low scoring fourth quarter, and five Roos with four our more fouls allowed NDSU to come out on top.
