The Roos were held to 30% shooting on the night
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second game in-a-row, missed shots came back to bite Kansas City Men's Basketball (11-17, 7-8 Summit). The Roos were held to 30.3% shooting as North Dakota State (12-15, 9-6 Summit) created separation late for a 69-58 win.Â
Both teams started slowly on the offensive end, scoring a combined eight points heading into the first media timeout. Following that point, the Bison began to pull away, and Kansas City never held a lead throughout the game. RayQuawndis Mitchell led Kansas City with 18 points, playing all 40 minutes and dishing out four assists. Shemarri Allen came in with 17 points of his own, pulling down seven rebounds and nabbing two steals.

COACH MARVIN MENZIES, QUOTED
Â
"Thirty-percent isn't going to get it done, in any form or fashion, and we allowed 52% for them in the second half. That was the story of the game. I thought we had some pretty decent looks that just didn't go down."
"I've been down this road before … One of our goals is to win the conference tournament. We have to ask ourselves: Can we stay connected? Can we stay a team? Can we stay positive? Can we shore up some of the blemishes?"
UP NEXT
Kansas City remains at home for final time this season, hosting North Dakota on Saturday for a Senior Night game. The Roos will honor Sam Martin prior to the game.
