Starting Five
- Following a decisive Summit League opening victory over Oral Roberts, Kansas City Men's Basketball heads to St. Paul for its first conference road game of the year against St. Thomas. The last time KC won its league road opener came in 2016-17, defeating Seattle U on Jan. 12.
- The 70-point plateau continues to be a marker of success for the Roos' offense. In games where KC scores 70-of-more points, the team holds a 6-1 record. When held below 70 points, the Roos are 0-7. Kansas City is currently averaging 71.4 points per game on the season, ranking ninth in the Summit League.
- Jamar Brown had one of the best games of his young Kansas City career against the Golden Eagles, going for 22 points and 10 rebounds. It marked the second 20-point game of his career and the third double-double of his career. He currently leads the team in points and rebounding, averaging 14.6 and 6.2, respectively. Ranking ninth in the league in scoring and sixth in rebounding, he joins Denver's Tuouko Tainamo and South Dakota State's Zeke Mayo as the only players to rank top-10 in both.
- Khristion Courseault's ability as a true point guard was on full display in the win over Oral Roberts, going for a career-high 12 assists. That mark is tied for the second-best in program history and was the first double-digit assist performance by a Summit League player this season.
- Kansas City is the top team in the league in forcing opponent turnovers, averaging 12.71 per game. That showed in the win over ORU, forcing the Golden Eagles into 14 turnovers, five above their season average.
St. Thomas Notes
- Selected to finish fourth in the Summit League Preseason Polls, the Tommies are currently 9-5 and come off a conference-opening 70-45 win over North Dakota.
- This will be the fifth meeting in series history, with Kansas City owning a 3-1 advantage all-time.
- St. Thomas won the most recent meeting, a 73-43 decision in St. Paul on Feb. 11, 2023.
- The Roos and Tommies rank first and second in the Summit in scoring defense, but rank eighth and ninth in scoring offense.
- The Tommies are led by Parker Bjorklund, averaging a team-leading 14.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
