Kansas City to Face ETSU for First Time in Program History

Starting Five
- Kansas City Men's Basketball remains on the road for the second-straight game on Wednesday evening, taking on East Tennessee State at 6:30 p.m. CT. It will be the Roos' final game before taking an eight day break for the holidays. Across the past 10 seasons, the Roos are 4-6 in their final game before Christmas Day.
- The Roos will be seeking their first win of the season outside of the state of Missouri. KC has one road win, coming at Lindenwood in Saint Charles, Mo. The Roos hold a 5-0 record in Missouri, but are 0-7 in games played outside of their home state.
- Babacar Diallo was a standout in Kansas City's most recent contest at Bowling Green. The senior from Dakar, Senegal played a season-high 28 minutes, scoring five points. He notched a season-high six rebounds and three assists, as well as nabbing KC's only two steals of the game.
- Kansas City posted a pair of double-doubles against the Falcons, one by Allen Mukeba (16 points, 11 rebounds) and one by Jamar Brown (14 points, 10 rebounds). It was Mukeba's first double-double of the year, the third of his Kansas City career. Brown leads the team with two double-doubles, his first coming against UNC Greensboro on Nov. 24. It marked the first time that two Roos went for a double-double in the same game since Mar. 9, 2017.
- Khristion Courseault has dished at least six assists in the last three games, bringing his season average up to 3.2 per game, ranking sixth in the Summit. He is the first Roo to notch six-plus assists in three-straight games since Evan Gilyard III from Feb. 12-19, 2022.
East Tennessee State Notes
- The Buccaneers enter Wednesday's game with a 6-4 record and are winners of three-straight games, including one-possession wins over Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech.
- This will be the first-ever meeting between the Roos and ETSU.
- This will be Kansas City's second game against a Southern Conference opponent this season. The Roos took on UNC Greensboro in the first round of the Baha Mar Nassau Championship on Nov. 24, falling, 76-64.
- The Bucs are in their first year under head coach Brooks Savage, who was previously an assistant at ETSU for five years from 2015-20.
- ETSU is one of the best teams in the nation on the offensive boards, averaging 13.30 per game. That mark is the best in the SoCon and 40th in Division One.
- The Buccaneers are led offensively by Ebby Asamoah, who averages 16.2 points per game on 43.1% three-point shooting.
