Starting Five
- After spending five-straight games outside of the confines of Kansas City, the Roos will return home on Thursday for a game against Southeast Missouri. So far this season, Kansas City holds a 2-0 record at home with wins over Avila and St. Mary (KS).
- During its trip to the Bahamas, Kansas City began to find a stride from behind the three-point arc. The Roos knocked down 12-of-34 triples against UNC Greensboro and 14-of-27 against Brown, KC's first time making 12-plus threes in back-to-back games since Nov. 25 and 28, 2016. The Roos attempted at least 34 threes in both games, a mark that had previously only been reached five times since 2010, and never in back-to-back games.
- Cameron Faas displayed his three-point shooting prowess last week, knocking down multiple triples in each of KC's three games. On the tournament, he shot 11-of-20 from long range, including a 6-of-7 day against UNC Greensboro on Nov. 24. According to Sports Reference, that performance was one of just four by a Roo since 2010 to make five-plus threes with one-or-fewer misses. In addition, he is one of just 10 players in Division One so far this season to shoot 6-of-7 or better from three-point range.
- Jamar Brown has been Kansas City's leading scorer through seven games this season, averaging 13.3 points per game and scoring in double-digits in 6-of-7 contests. In addition, he notched KC's first double-double of the season, logging 13 points and 10 rebounds against UNC Greensboro. On the season, Brown averages 3.14 offensive rebounds per game, which ranks second in the Summit and 63rd in the nation.
- The Roos have been the best team in the Summit at sharing the ball, averaging a league-best 13.1 assists per game. That mark is led by Anderson Kopp, who averages 3.4 dimes per contest with a 2.18 assist-to-turnover ratio.
SEMO Notes
- The Redhawks enter Thursday's contest on a two-game skid, going 0-2 in the Coke Zero Sugar Classic on Nov. 25 & 26. SEMO has one win on the year, a comeback victory over Central Arkansas on Nov. 20.
- This will be the 10th meeting between the Roos and Redhawks, all coming since 2002. SEMO owns a 6-3 series lead, but its a 2-2 draw during games on KC's home court.
- The last meeting between these two programs came on Nov. 28, 2020 in the Negro League Baseball Museum Tipoff Classic, with Southeast Missouri taking a 71-66 victory.Â
- SEMO's scoring efforts are led by Adam Larson, the Redhawks' only double-digit scorer with an average of 11.0 points per game.
