Kazuki Kimura continued his impressive year, scoring his fourth goal of the season
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Kansas City Men's Soccer remained undefeated in Summit League play and notched its first clean sheet of the year this evening, defeating Southern Indiana, 2-0. A pair of second half goals led KC to victory, but it was the Roos' defense that impressed, allowing just four shot attempts on the night.
KEY MOMENTS
- 4' / 0-0 | Christian Koffi found a cutting Kazuki Kimura, who outran the Southern Indiana defense for a shot on goal, earning a corner. Arne Neufang put a head on the ensuing set piece, but the shot went above the crossbar.
- 27' / 0-0 | The Screaming Eagles pieced together an attack for their first shot of the day, but a well-timed tackle by Carson Lindsey blocked the shot and kept KC out of danger.
- 47' / 1-0 | Kansas City struck early in the second half, as Neufang drew a foul and earned a free kick on the edge of the attacking third. Neufang earned his revenge for the foul, as Kotaro Hirokawa sent the ball into the box, settling at Neufang's foot for a goal sent right past the Screaming Eagles' keeper.

COACH RYAN PORE, QUOTED
"I'm really proud of the group tonight. We got good performances from many players and also guys off the bench. I thought we controlled most of the game with the ball and also were very good defensively in the transition moments. We will enjoy this one tonight and prepare for a quick turnaround against WIU on Saturday."
