
Roos' Win Streak Snapped at SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Despite 17 points from Brandon McKissic, Kansas City (11-11, 7-6) could not overcome strong post play by South Dakota State (14-6, 8-3), falling 67-49. The loss breaks Kansas City's season-long five-game win streak.
The Roos stayed in the game in the first half using hot three-point shooting. Kansas City connected on 5-of-15 attempts from long range, holding the Jackrabbits 0-of-5 from three. McKissic scored 13 of his 17 in the first half, hitting on two triples.
SDSU dominated in the paint, where the Roos usually make their living. The Jackrabbits outscored the Roos 42-18 in the lane, shooting 63.2% on the day. The Roos could never get their offense going, finishing 33.3% from the field, 17% below their season average.
Josiah Allick was the only other Roo to reach double digits, finishing with 12 points. Ten of his points came in the second half, where he shot 4-of-10 from the field.
Kansas City wraps up its regular season against the Jackrabbits tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. in Brookings.
