Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC men's tennis team defeated Cowley County C.C. on Tuesday afternoon at the Plaza Tennis Center, 6-1. The Kangaroos improve to 12-6 overall and record their 10th consecutive win.
In doubles action, Gustavo Guerin and Cameron Schoenhofer defeated Zach Evenden and Tom Gibaud, 8-4, at the No. two slot. The UMKC duo of Serge Ristivojevic and Nick Mader defeated John Ward and Dave Chera, 8-4. At the No. 1 slot, Nino Hasandedic and Grant Fleming battled despite a 9-8 (7-4) loss from Joan Valls and Nei Dos Santos.
In singles competition, Hasandedic, Fleming, Ristivojevic and Guerin all won in two sets. Abdul Alawadhi played a hard match against Gibaud and came out on top, 6-1, 6-7 and 6-4.
The men's tennis team is back in action on Friday against Oral Roberts at 2 p.m.
