DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas - Two former Kansas City Roo tennis players, Patrick Smith and Yana Grechkina, have been selected to play on the same Major League Pickleball (MLP) team, the ATX Pickleballers. The inaugural season kicks off this weekend with a four-day, nationally broadcast tournament at the Dreamland-Dripping Springs Entertainment Center in Texas. The eight teams that were selected to participate in the inaugural launch of the MLP season will compete in a round-robin, with each team playing one another over the course of the weekend. The ATX Pickleballers team is composed of No. 1 overall draft pick Catherine Parenteau, Tyler Loong, Grechkina, & Smith. The ATX Pickleballers will take up their paddles against the other teams this weekend with a $150,000 cash prize on the line for the winning team.
