Fraunfelder, Piekarek forced tiebreakers, but OU earned the sweep
NORMAN, Okla. - Kansas City Men's Tennis had no answers for Oklahoma today, falling 7-0. The bottom of the Roos' lineup was able to keep things interesting, but no match went beyond two sets.
The Sooners took the doubles point, taking the victory at the number two and three spots. Jake Fraunfelder and Austin Williams put up a fight, but fell 6-3 at twos.
Oklahoma took points in singles at the first four flights handily, sweeping through the Roos. Fraunfelder made his opponent work for the match at the five spot, forcing a second set tiebreaker, but fell 7-5, 7-6 (4). Kacper Piekarek was able to force a tiebreaker as well, but his opponent was too much in extra play. Piekarek fell, 6-4, 7-6 (1).
The Roos move to 2-4 on the season, and will play next against Abilene Christian on Thursday in Kansas City.
