
UMKC Suffers Defeat At North Dakota State

Fargo, N.D. - The UMKC women's soccer team faced North Dakota State on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 5-1 decision. The Kangaroos fall to 1-15-1 on the season and 1-6 in The Summit League. Zaina Mayer scored the lone goal for the `Roos and Jami Finnell recorded a career-high 16 saves.
The Bison were all over the Kangaroos in the first half, posting 29 shots. North Dakota State scored in the 22nd, 23rd, 34th and 36th minutes for a 4-0 lead at the end of the half.
The second half was a more balanced game, as the Kangaroos were able to get off six shots. Mayer's fifth goal of the year came in the 62nd minute when she put away a rebound off of the Bison goalkeeper.
North Dakota State would score its fifth and final goal in the 74th minute to seal the victory.
The Kangaroos are back in action at Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field on Thur., Oct. 29th at 5 p.m. to host Oral Roberts.
