Kansas City Falls 1-0 After Late Memphis Goal

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Kansas City Women's Soccer team drops a tough 1-0 defeat to (RV) Memphis on Sunday night.
Kansas City went toe-to-toe with the Tigers all night, starting in the opening 45 minutes, when they had two shots in the half. In the 34th minute, Olivia Orosco picked up a Memphis turnover and put a shot off the crossbar. The match was scoreless heading into the break, where the hosts had 11 shots, and Anika Patton saved all six shots on goal.
Memphis would open the second half on the front foot, with nine shots in the opening 15 minutes. Memphis found the back of the net in the 77th minute from a cross to the back post; after VAR review, the goal was upheld. The Roos would get a chance to equalize in the 87th minute from a corner, but would come up short in the end.
